Like any great business, the 513 Flat Fee Real Estate Group was created to better serve the needs of its customers. But you probably won’t care what we do until you understand why we do it.
After 4 years of working with a traditional real estate brokerage, I was convinced that there had to be a better way to serve my customers. I knew that I could offer a higher quality service for a lower price, but I couldn’t do that with my traditional brokerage’s business model.
So I ventured out into the great unknown of the real estate universe, in search of a brokerage with the perfect business model. I wanted a brokerage that would allow me to customize my services and pricing, in order to offer my customers a much better value than they could get from other agents.
Believe it or not, this type of business model is not common among real estate brokerages. Most are very traditional and old-fashioned – focusing on the way things have always been, rather than on how things should be.
After searching far and wide, I found Fathom Realty.
Since joining Fathom Realty, I’ve had the freedom to tailor my services and pricing to fit the specific needs of each of my customers. As a result, my customers’ satisfaction has increased significantly and my business has thrived.
Perhaps more importantly, I’ve been able to think outside the box and challenge our industry’s norms.
For several years, I’ve wondered why people pay real estate agents a commission to help them sell their homes, rather than a flat fee.
Of course, commissions provide an incentive for listing agents to sell homes for as much as possible. But the reality is that agents don’t have much influence over buyers’ perception of home values.
Buyers can easily find similar homes that have sold recently to determine what homes are worth. And they’re not willing to pay more unless competition from other buyers forces them to.
So if paying a commission rather than a flat fee doesn’t result in a higher sale price, why should homeowners pay a commission?
Some would argue that selling higher-priced homes requires more time and effort – and that’s why agents should get paid more to sell them. On the other hand, agents should get paid less to sell lower-priced homes because they require less time and effort.
In my experience, this is simply not true. Selling any home requires significant time and effort, regardless of its value.
I’ve always given equal time and effort to sell all of my customers’ homes. They deserve my best, whether their homes are worth $100,000 or $1,000,000.
No one should have to pay more simply because they have more. And no one should expect to receive less simply because they have less to give.
That’s why I launched our full service flat fee listings model.
It’s our mission to provide the highest quality service in the industry for the lowest possible price.
Other agents can’t compete with the value we deliver, because their business model doesn’t allow it. They’re stuck doing business the way it’s always been done.
Unfortunately, many homeowners get stuck in this trap as well. They end up paying more or getting less, simply because they don’t know there’s a better option.
